Shihan Tenpou Toru Kimura's Speech I am very happy to be here this morning with Hokushin Shinoh Ryu members here in Adelaide and a lot of thanks for Shihan Goho Wonho Chong. 1550 AD Hayashizaki Jinsuke Shigenobu Founded the Iai-Do. Most ancient schools of Iai-Do trace their roots back to this founder. Founder of Hokushin Shinoh Ryu, Shinoda Oho Masatsune, studied and mastered swordsmanship with Hokushin Itto Ryu Kenjutsu and was a direct student of Grand Master Ono Nao Uemon in Mito, then learned and mastered Shinto Ryu under Kaisou, Hibino Raifu. He was granted permission by both Grand Masters to establish his own “Ryu”, which he did by combining what he had learned from both schools, the best techniques. Grand Master Kimura Hekiho Masakazu (My Father) is a direct student of Soke, Shinoda Ohho Masatsune and inheritor of Hokushin Shinoh Ryu Iaido. He met Shihan Goho in Nagoya, 1976 and taught him ever since. For over twenty-nine years Shihan GoHo Wonho Chong and his family have worked tirelessly to promote and teach Hokushin Shinoh Ryu Iai-Do out side of Japan. He has true martial spirit and ethic,
Grand Master Kimura Masakazu is happy that Hokushin Shinoh Ryu has expanded to New Zealand and Korea and hoping to expand to other countries with your help in the future. It is unfortunate that Grand Master Kimura Hekiho Masakazu is not here to meet you here in Adelaide tonight but he is looking forward to meeting with Shihan Tenpou Toru Kimura |
