Seki City, which is famous as the sword center of Japan "Seki-no-Magoroku", is proud of its seven hundred years tradition of fine blade manufacture. The origin of the name Seki goes back one thousand years when it was a barrier and way station along the main road.

Seki City is situated in the mid south of Gifu Prefecture, between the famous rivers of Kiso and Nagara.
